The TV anime “The Vermilion Mask” today released its non-credit opening and ending videos, unveiled immediately following the series premiere on October 10. The opening video is set to MAN WITH A MISSION’s “Firestarter,” and the ending video to yutori’s “Koe.”
The series premiered October 10 and airs every Saturday at 2:30AM Pacific Time on Crunchyroll.
Non-Credit Opening Video: “Firestarter” by MAN WITH A MISSION
AdvertisementThe opening video follows Peru d’Arrest (voiced by Taihi Kimura), Sonarue Maywood (Yuuki Yamamoto) and Mok Sharib (Kazuki Ura) as they travel the world to destroy the masks left behind by Peru’s master, intercut with glimpses of the harrowing pasts each of them conceals.
MAN WITH A MISSION described “Firestarter” as “a powerful song, one that could give a push to the adventure of these young people who have been saddled with such a cruel fate.”
Non-Credit Ending Video: “Koe” by yutori
AdvertisementThe ending video centers on Peru, Sona and Mok and the loneliness and pain that each hold deep in their hearts, and how, still carrying that weight, they step forward together.
Of the ending theme “Koe,” meaning “voice,” yutori said, “You can’t erase the past, but the act of carrying it and still trying to move forward is surely something that overlaps with our own everyday lives.” Set to Kotoko Sato’s fierce yet fragile vocals, the ending video brings home the “feelings Peru and the others cannot give voice to.”
