In the Japanese sorcerer society of Jujutsu Kaisen, clans form an incredibly important element, as some of the most powerful techniques seen in the story are passed down through them as Inherited Techniques. These clans also hold tremendous influence within the high ranks of the Jujutsu society, and among these clans, the one that is widely believed to be the strongest is the Gojo Clan.
It is this clan that everyone's beloved Gojo Satoru stemmed from. The Gojo clan's influence in the original JJK series was absolutely unmatched, and they controlled society from behind the shadows. Now, Gege Akutami, the creator of the series, has officially confirmed to us that the Gojo Clan is not going to be the same as before. This clan is losing its biggest assets, and with it, its influence in the Jujutsu world, which essentially marks the beginning of its end.
Jujutsu Kaisen Is Removing The Special Powers Of The Gojo Clan In The New Era
When it comes to the Gojo family, their prized asset has always been the Limitless Cursed Technique, as well as the trait of Six Eyes. The Limitless is one of the strongest cursed techniques to exist in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, one that allows one to manipulate the concept of space itself. At the same time, when coupled with the Six Eyes, this technique can be taken to a completely new level that essentially gives one the tools to become the strongest in the entire world. Together, the Limitless and the Six Eyes made Gojo Satoru the strongest modern sorcerer, and some of the most influential figures in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen have wielded these powers for centuries. Now, however, things are changing.
In Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo chapter 24, which was officially released on March 2, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 14, Gege Akutami, the original creator of the story, decided to mark the beginning of the end for the Gojo Clan as well as all the other big clans in the story. This is because Yuji Itadori, the former protagonist of the series, decided to utilize the tools he had to remove Cursed Energy from the next generation of Japan. While Yuji believed this to be a sin, he still felt that this was the right thing to do.
"I'm going to live for another 300 or so years. I will handle whatever follows. And if necessary, I'll bear the consequences of this great sin." — Yuji removes cursed energy, Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo Chapter #22
At the very beginning of this chapter, we could see Cursed Energy being removed from the next generation, meaning that the future generation that will be born in Japan will be similar to those in the countries outside. Cursed Energy can never be fully erased, and only traces will now be present in all humans alike. In other words, the formation of Cursed Spirits will be largely limited going forward, and one of the biggest problems that Japan has faced over the years is finally solved, thanks to Yuji Itadori.
In hindsight, this has a knock-on effect on the power hierarchy within Japanese society. In simpler words, the Gojo Clan is not going to be as powerful as it once was and is set to lose massive amounts of influence in the long run. With the removal of Cursed Energy, the Limitless Cursed Technique, as well as the Six Eyes, are no longer going to be relevant in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. This means that the Gojo clan is losing what makes them special, and with that, their influence will also erode with time, making them just another clan in Japan in due time.
Tsurugi: I don't want the ring!
Mifuyu: What you want is irrelevant. The Gojo Clan has already made its decision!

Why The Gojo Clan Will Lose Its Special Status In The Post-Modulo Era
As of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 25, which is the latest release of the manga that we received on March 9, 2026, in Shueisha Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 15, the Gojo clan is still the strongest in Japan. This is because, currently, within their ranks are Tsurugi Okkotsu and Yuka Okkotsu, both of whom are incredibly powerful. Yuka has access to the Ten Shadows technique, while Tsurugi just awakened his full powers recently, like Maki Zenin. Their powers are unmatched, and none of the other clans in Japan can even hope to stand up to them, but they are also the last of their kind.
“Promise me one thing, Big sister. Please, destroy everything, and I mean everything, big sis.” — Mai asks Maki to erase the Zenin, Perfect Preparation Arc
The next generation will not inherit the Ten Shadows from Yuka Okkotsu because this Cursed Technique is dying with her. The Limitless is already dead, and the Six Eyes will not exist any longer. Heavenly Restriction users like Tsurugi are rare as they are, so fans will most certainly not get to see much of them either. In other words, the Gojo family is going to be reduced to mediocrity in the next few decades, and their influence is set to erode from here onwards, marking their official death.

The Gojo family is going to suffer tremendously in the long run, as Cursed Energy has now been removed, but they are not the only ones that are going to be affected by this decision by Yuji Itadori. Alongside the Gojo family, the Kamo family, and whatever remains of the Zenin are also going to face a big blow. The Zenin were largely wiped out by Maki in the first part of Jujutsu Kaisen, but Megumi Fushiguro could have potentially continued this clan if he ever had any children. So far, we have no information on that, but if that is truly the case, then his children or grandchildren will most likely not inherit any powers of the Zenin Family.
Meanwhile, little is known about how the Kamo clan operates, but we do know that even after the events of Shinjuku Showdown, this clan was largely active. Their ability of Blood Manipulation is also now dead with the removal of Cursed Energy, with Yuji Itadori being the last person to have access to this ability. Just like the Gojo Clan, these two clans are also facing big blows, as will other clans like the Inumaki, among many others. In due time, all the sorcerer families will be more or less equal in terms of power and influence. While they will lose prized assets in the form of special inherited techniques, they will finally be able to see eye to eye, which is certainly a positive development in the grand scheme of things.
