After moving its schedule from September 17 to 19, PGL Wallachia Season 9 is gearing up to become one of the most anticipated events after The International 2026. However, concerns about the tournament’s management started to surface after the participating teams were only revealed three days before the event began.

The difficulty in finalizing the participating teams comes as no surprise, as PGL scheduled the tournament just a few weeks after TI 15. This timing may have forced organizations to field temporary lineups while they continue rebuilding their rosters for the new season.

All Dota 2 teams in PGL Wallachia Season 9

Unlike previous seasons, PGL Wallachia Season 9 is designated as a Tier 2 tournament. This is because the event did not include any qualifying matches, with all participating teams receiving direct invitations. It also does not feature several of the world’s top teams, including Team Spirit, PARIVISION, BetBoom Team, and Team Liquid.

While the participating teams are already confirmed, the event itself has yet to reveal the players representing each team. However, we checked the teams’ official social media channels and added the rosters of those that have already confirmed their lineups.

We will update the list once the remaining teams confirm their lineups. They will play right after the release of Dota 2’s patch 7.41f.

Tournament format and results

PGL Wallachia Season 9 will run a more simplified tournament format: a modified Swiss group stage and a double-elimination bracket playoffs round.

All 16 teams will first compete in the group stage, where the top eight teams will advance to the playoffs. From there, the surviving teams will enter the double-elimination bracket, giving each team a chance to progress through the upper bracket while having another opportunity to stay alive in the lower bracket.

From the group stage through the upper and lower bracket finals, teams will face each other in best-of-three series. The grand final will use a best-of-five format.
